Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the inaugural Nutanix NTC Tech Connect event in San José. For this event, the company invited their Nutanix Technology Champions NTCs to their headquarters in San José, California for a personal exchange and briefing.

The one and a half day event was packed with sessions from the product managers on the individual technologies and solutions of the Nutanix stack. We learned what is currently being worked on, but also what to expect in the near and distant future. In addition to the well-known and long-established Nutanix cloud infrastructure solutions such as AHV, AOS, Files and Object Storage, Nutanix is always working on new future-oriented offerings such as the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform as solutions for the increasingly important container-based applications or the Nutanix Database Services, a platform for the centralized provisioning, deployment and operation of databases.

For me as a Nutanix end customer, the Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure solutions are still the most important products. We have been operating our entire data center infrastructure on the Nutanix AHV Platform for around 10 years now and use it to provide classic infrastructure services such as domain services, DNS and DHCP services, file and web services, databases, etc., but also as a virtualization platform for our entire Citrix VDI and terminal server services. I was therefore naturally pleased to see that Nutanix continues to pay the necessary attention to these classic technologies and is constantly improving, integrating new features and further investing into development in this area as well.

The recently released AOS 6.10 version is the best proof. In addition to various new features and improvements, this release also brings a performance boost solely through software upgrades. I just couldn't stop myself and upgraded one of my productive clusters at home in Switzerland live from San José to this latest AOS version during the meeting :)

In addition to the valuable insights and the opportunity for direct feedback to the product managers and the exchange with Nutanix President & CEO, Raijiv Ramaswami, this kind of personal meetings and interactions are of course always a very welcome opportunity to meet new and old colleagues from the ranks of the Nutanix Technology Champions in person. Usually we only see each other remotely during our NTC calls or maintain the exchange via social media since we're spread all accross the world.

Last but not least, I would like to thank Nutanix and Angelo Luciani, the Community Manager responsible for the Nutanix Technology Champions Program. This invitation to the Nutanix headquarters is a wonderful sign of appreciation for our community engagement - Thank you everybody who made this possible!
